How your donation is deployed

We are students. Nobody here draws a salary, rents an office, or bills the fund for travel. Our only deduction is the flat fee our fiscal sponsor takes from incoming donations, which pays for the 501(c)(3) status, the bookkeeping, the tax filings, and the card processing that make this fund legal and auditable.

93%

Direct respite & relief grants

Paid straight toward hourly professional respite care, lost-income relief, equipment, and utility emergencies for ALS families.

7%

Fiscal sponsorship fee

A flat fee deducted by our fiscal sponsor from incoming donations. It covers our 501(c)(3) status, bookkeeping and tax filing, and all card processing fees.

0%

Salaries & overhead

Every organizer is an unpaid student volunteer. No salaries, no office, no paid fundraising.

Verify us, don’t just trust us

Our fiscal sponsor publishes a live, public ledger of every transaction in and out of our account. You can audit us at any hour of any day, without asking our permission.

Advocacy

Why family caregiver support matters

The American care system has a structural blind spot. It will pay a licensed agency to send an aide into a home, but it will not pay, insure, or even formally recognize the wife, husband, or child already doing that work around the clock for free.

So the family absorbs it. A caregiver cuts their hours or leaves their job, losing income and employer health coverage at the same moment. Paid family leave, where it exists at all, is measured in weeks; ALS caregiving is measured in years. And when they finally hire professional relief for an afternoon, that bill is almost always paid out of pocket.

We treat that gap as the real emergency. Our grants are a stopgap, not a solution — so alongside them we publish anonymized data from every round and bring it to councils, school boards, and legislators who can change the policy underneath the problem.
